Types of Talk Therapy

Our therapists offer a variety of different therapy models to individualize your care:

ACT helps you better understand your relationship with people, places, and life events to help you build psychological flexibility. This is often achieved through exploration and practice of acceptance, mindfulness, your personal values, and commitment to action.

CBT is an approach that helps you identify unhealthy, negative beliefs and behaviors and replace them with healthy, positive ones.

DBT is an approach that teaches behavioral skills to cultivate mindfulness, enhance interpersonal relationships, regulate emotions, and effectively de-escalate crisis or distress.

IPT focuses on addressing problems with your current relationships to improve your interpersonal skills — how you relate to others, such as family, friends and colleagues.

Motivational Interviewing is an approach designed to help people find the motivation needed to make positive changes in their life.

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on increasing your awareness of unconscious thoughts and behaviors, developing new insights into your motivations, and resolving conflicts. This may involve exploring your early history and how it may be impacting your thoughts and feelings today.

Solution-Focused Therapy is a short-term treatment focused on developing effective solutions to achieve goals, enhance motivation, and express positive emotions.

Supportive psychotherapy reinforces your ability to cope with stress and difficult situations. This model helps create a safe space for you to express emotions and explore your thoughts.
