About Lynne Awe

I have been in the public service field for most of my adult life, and as a retired law enforcement officer I can now utilize my extensive knowledge and psychology education to assist persons experiencing mental and emotional distress. Treatment approaches include Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. As you work with me, we develop your personal empowerment, because in therapy, ultimately each individual is in control of their own healing journey. You have the power within to either overcome or adapt to negative and stressful situations with a little support! These positive results can be realized with the help of a competent clinician. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I help LGBTQ+ adolescents and adults negotiate their way through difficult situations unique to that community.

I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), Florida Counseling Association (FCA), and The Florida Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Issues in Counseling (FALGBTIC).
I am a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
