Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is a non-invasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain in order to improve the symptoms of depression. It is our goal to provide access to effective and cutting edge treatments.

NeuroStar Advanced Therapy (TMS) is an innovative, FDA-cleared therapy for adults 18 to 70 years of age that can help people who struggle with Major Depressive Disorder.

It is not electroconvulsive therapy. It helps activate the natural function of the brain’s neurotransmitters using a non-invasive magnetic field. Precisely targeted NeuroStar Advanced Therapy makes long-term remission possible.

Many insurance companies have established medical coverage policies for TMS Therapy and our team can review any specific questions you may have regarding coverage.

Targeted stimulation of the left prefrontal cortex modulates deeper brain regions involved in mood regulation. The treatment coil delivers rapid pulses, which may
feel like a gentle tapping on the scalp.

In the comfort of our office, you can expect the following experience:

  1. Daily treatments 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks*
  2. Each treatment lasts 19-37 minutes*
  3. No anesthesia or sedation required

* May vary depending on your doctor’s recommendation. Patients are awake and alert during the treatment and may resume regular activities immediately
afterwards.

Science suggests that depression is caused by underactive areas of
the brain thought to regulate mood. When mood plummets it can impact selfperception and self-esteem. That’s why we offer NeuroStar® Advanced Therapy, a non-invasive,
non-drug transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) that treats depression at the source. NeuroStar is a precise patented technology that delivers the right dose to the right location every time. Perhaps it’s time to consider a non-drug treatment for depression.

Treatment Aimed at Helping Your Depression.
NeuroStar is indicated for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder in adult patients who have failed to receive satisfactory improvement from prior antidepressant medication in the current episode.

NeuroStar is:

  • FDA-cleared since 2008

  • Non-invasive
  • No side effects of drugs

How Do You Know if NeuroStar is Right For You?

If you have been diagnosed with MDD (Major Depressive Disorder), and have not experienced relief from antidepressants, NeuroStar may be right for you. NeuroStar is not a drug. It is not another form of shock therapy or surgery. And it has none of the side effects associated with medications.

NeuroStar is an in-office treatment lasting as little as 19 minutes per daily session† over the course of 6 weeks.

How Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Works

Transcranial magnetic stimulation uses a targeted pulsed magnetic field similar to what is used in an MRI. Patients are awake and alert during treatment and can resume their normal activities immediately after their treatment.

It is an in-office treatment that takes 19 to 37 minutes and is administered 5 days a week, for approximately 4-6 weeks.

What Patients Say

I have experienced years and years of depression. Five times I was admitted to mental facilities. Occasionally medicine would help temporarily, but the dark veil of depression was always present. Thoughts of suicide went through my mind often, and at times, seemed like the only way to get relief from the heavy weight of depression. Dr. Toledo suggested TMS Therapy for me. At the end of the treatments I could feel the darkness and depression lifting away.

To all the special people at Elite DNA Therapy Services, I just wanted to say how pleased I am with all the people I had contact with during my treatment. The doctor was kind and caring, Rose was a sweetheart and very efficient but my technician Jay was outstanding! She'd made it a pleasure to come in and let the woodpecker do its job by his sweet disposition and good work ethic. I feel I was greatly encouraged with my treatment and would recommend it to others.

October 2017

When I was approached about NeuroSTAR TMS therapy, I had been depressed since 2001. I had been ready for something to work for me. In the beginning of treatment and throughout the following 3 weeks, I had begun to believe that I would be the one failure from TMS treatment. After 3 weeks, I began to feel something but wasn't sure it was from the treatment. I was beginning to feel emotions that I hadn't felt in years. I look forward to another day now!
